Who We Are: The Paranormal Seekers
Founded in 2004, The Paranormal Seekers are a paranormal research and investigation group based in Durham Region (Oshawa), Ontario, Canada. We specialize in investigating historic locations and promoting afterlife awareness, while also working with residential and commercial properties.
Our mission goes beyond simply searching for ghosts. We want to link the past to the present, uncover forgotten stories, make history interesting and encourage people to explore the incredible historic locations around them.
The Paranormal Seekers was founded by Rachel, along with Jay and other early members of the team. One of our first major investigations took us to Oshawa's historic Parkwood Estate—and more than two decades later, we're still exploring.
What We Do
Using a combination of technology, historical research, traditional investigative methods and psychic abilities, we've investigated everything from museums, theatres and pioneer villages to cemeteries, businesses and private homes throughout Ontario and New York State.
And we don't just investigate and leave. We research. We review. We document.
When permitted, our findings—including video, photographs and audio evidence—are shared publicly to help tell the stories of the locations we investigate. Every client determines their own level of confidentiality, and every case is handled with professionalism, respect and discretion.
Our Team
We're serious about paranormal investigation—even if we don't always take ourselves seriously.
Every member of The Paranormal Seekers completes a recruitment process involving interviews, smaller investigations, criminal background checks and team agreements before becoming a full investigator.
After all, being a paranormal investigator requires a little more than owning an EMF meter and being willing to stand in a creepy basement.
Beyond the Investigation
The Paranormal Seekers operates as a non-profit organization. We don't charge for investigations or expect donations, but donations are gratefully accepted and put toward equipment, investigation expenses and other team needs.
Over the years, we've appeared on The Marilyn Denis Show, worked with Honda Motorcycles, and been featured through television, radio, podcasts, newspapers and magazines. In 2023, we were thrilled to become the cover story of American Paranormal Magazine's June/July edition.
We've also hosted public investigations, presentations and paranormal events throughout Ontario, sharing our experiences, research and love of history with the public.
More than 20 years later, we're still investigating, still researching and still asking: What happened here?
Because sometimes the best ghost stories aren't just stories. They're history waiting to be rediscovered.
