The sun was shining and the conversation was flowing, as the team made their way on another road trip to a picturesque destination. This investigation was a little different then the previous ones as the team had invited two new members to join us – though neither one knew yet. This would be Jessica and Melissa’s first official investigation. We pulled up to the location and began to unload our equipment, unsure of what the evening would bring.
Located near the downtown core of Niagara On The Lake, the Niagara Historical Museum was founded in 1896. The Museum was moved to its current spot in 1907 and is one of Ontario’s oldest Museum buildings. The building has been unaltered and remains original. In the 1940’s the Museum obtained the highschool next to it and added a link between the two buildings. All the artifacts are orginal and have been acquired throughout the years. It is definitely a place for the history buff!
We entered the location and were greeted by our wonderful host for the evening, Amy. Amy gave us a tour of the building and a bit of the history. Even though she has never had an expereinces, she did mention that only one other paranormal team had investigated the location and captured some audio evidence. After our tour, we began to set up. The DVR system was set up in the archive rooms. Because there are many personal affects in these rooms, there could be a lot of energy moving about. Once the cameras were situated and recording, the team split up into 3 smaller group – Rachel and Sean; Colin and Jessica; Jay and Melissa. Rachel and Sean headed to the furniture archive room, Colin and Jessica went to the personal affects archives room, while Jay and Melissa headed to the first floor and basement area. The lights were turned out and the investigation began!

In the furniture archive room, Rachel and Sean were just beginning their investigation. “Is there a child in this room?” Sean asked “Can you tell me your name?” he continued. “If you want, you can show yourself, or can you make the EMF meter go off in front of me?” he asked. It was at this time that the Ovilus spoke its first word – ‘Multiple’. “Are you talking about multiple spirits or you talking about multiple artifacts?” asked Sean. The room was quiet, except for the hum of the central air system. “Feeling anything in here?” Rachel asked. “A little bit,” replied Sean. “Anything in here attached to the artifacts? Can you tap on something for me? If you want, you can move around,” said Sean. Rachel filmed around the room, but was leary as she felt that at some point, something or someone was going to peak out behind a piece of furniture. “If you want, you can use some of my energy to make the EMF go off?” Sean said. As Sean stared into the darkness, he thought he saw something that made him jump back. “You alright? Did you see something?” Rachel asked. “Ya. Though I saw someone sneak by. Like peaking out. It was like a white mist, in a ball,” stated Sean. “Funny, cause when I was filming to my left, I thought something was going to peak out at me,” replied Rachel. “That’s what I saw,” confirmed Sean. The Ovilus spoke again – ‘Sunrise’. “Hmm. But ya, that’s what I thought. Someone was going to peak out while I was filming. I kept thinking it was going to be a child, about 10, 11 years old,” stated Rachel. “Was that you I saw?” asked Sean into the darkness. All was quiet. “Sunrise. Like a sunrise on a painting?” asked Sean. “Is there something in here with a sunrise on it? Like a painting or a piece of furniture or something?” Rachel followed. Sean begins to walk between the aisles, looking at the artifacts for something with a sunrise. “What do you mean by sunrise?” asked Sean. Sean was now to the far right of the room and had just peaked around the corner when the Ovilus spoke – ‘Hi’. “You looked over there and it said ‘Hi’. Maybe that’s where they are hiding,” Rachel said. “Well hi to you too,” said Sean. “Are you over in there corner? If you want, come over and stand beside me,” he said. The Ovilus spoke again – ‘Between’. “You want to stand between us?” asked Rachel. “Are you going to come over and stand in between us?” she added. “Are you standing between Rachel and I?” asked Sean. “Can you touch one of us?” asked Rachel. “Can you just give us...” Rachel said before she was cut off by the Ovilus – ‘Vase’. “It says vase. Like something you put a flower in,” Rachel followed up with. “You mean a vase in this room or building?” asked Sean. “I would say it’s where Colin is,” added Rachel.
It was then decided to try a P-SB7 ghost box session. The device was turned on and the session began. “Is there someone in this room right now? Can you say ‘Hi’,” asked Rachel. A female voice is heard – ‘Hello’. “Is there a female in this room with us? Can you tell us what your name is?” Rachel asked. A female voice is heard – ‘Lorraine’. “Is your name Lorraine?” asked Rachel. No responses were heard. “Are you young or old?” she continued. A female voice is heard – ‘Young’. Some more questions were asked, but no audible responses heard. It was decided to turn the frequency to AM. “Is there a child in this room?” asked Rachel. A male voice is heard – ‘Me’. “Who’s ‘Me’? Can you tell us your name?” Rachel asked. “Could the male in this room tell us his name?” continued Rachel. The Ovilus spoke – ‘Light’. “Do you want the light turned on?” asked Rachel. A male voice is heard – ‘Yup’. “You want the light turned on, eh,” Sean said out loud. “We like to work in the dark,” Rachel stated. “Do you not like the light shining in from under the door?” she asked. “Or do you want all the lights in the building turned off?” she continued. A male voice is heard – ‘Yup’. “Is there a reason why? Why do you want all the lights turned off?” asked Rachel. No response was heard. “How many are here with us?” was her next question. A male voice is heard – ‘Four’. “In this room or building?” asked Rachel. The Ovilus then spoke – ‘Bottle’. Questions where asked about a bottle, but no audible responses were heard. “Do you know what are name are? Can you say one of our names?” asked Rachel. A male voice is heard – ‘Sure’. “Who’s the person standing to my left?” questioned Rachel. A male voice is heard – ‘You’. “I may be standing to your left, but who is standing to mine?” she asked. A male voice is heard – ‘Jim’. “Jim isn’t here. If you can’t say his name, can you say my name?” asked Rachel. But all was quiet. “Do you like us being in here?” Rachel questioned. A female voice is heard – ‘No’. “Why don’t you like us being in here?” asked Sean. The Ovlius spoke – ‘Multiple’. “Is there multiple spirits in here?” Sean asked. A male voice is heard – ‘Yup’. The Ovilus spoke – ‘Quill”. “Did you use to write with a feathered pen?” asked Rachel. No audible response was heard. “Did you fight in the War of 1812?” was her next question. A male voice is heard – ‘Sure’. “Can you tell us where you would like us to go next?” she asked. A female voice is heard – ‘Yes’. “Where would you like us to go next then?” Rachel questioned. No responses where heard. “Before we leave this room, can you make a big bang or move something for us?” asked Rachel. “Give us a sign,” added Sean. A male voice is heard – ‘Yes’. “Okay, we’re waiting,” stated Rachel. “Can you make the EMF go off over there?” Rachel asked next. A male voice was heard – ‘Yup’. “Can you make the green light go red?” asked Rachel. A male voice is heard – ‘Light’, followed by a female voice – ‘Hi’. “Are you over there with Sean?” asked Rachel. A male voice is heard – ‘No’. “Is there anything else you would like to say before I turn this off?” Rachel asked. Nothing was heard so the ghost box session was ended.
Shortly after the Ovilus spoke – ‘Zero’. Rachel then begins to feel extremely tired and ready to move on to the next location. As the two discuss what the plan is, the Ovilus spoke – ‘Indian’. “I would assume there were natives along here at some point,” stated Rachel. “Or is there something in here made or inspired by Indians?” she asked. As they gathered the equipment and headed to the next room, little did Rachel and Sean know that the word ‘Indian’ has a signifigant part of the building.
It was then decided to try a P-SB7 ghost box session. The device was turned on and the session began. “Is there someone in this room right now? Can you say ‘Hi’,” asked Rachel. Colin and Jessica had some interaction with the REM pod and felt like it was someone or something wanting to play. “I wanted to get up and find someone to play with,” Jessica described. “Hey, I’m here now,” Rachel said. “Can you make that REM pod go off for me? Just a little bleep bleep,” she asked. But the device remained quiet. “So there was something. Something walked in between us. Like a light,” Colin stated. “It came by really fast. I thought it was someone,” added Jessica. “It was like a light source,” said Colin. “The REM pod doesn’t go off when we are over here, but when we leave, it does,” added Colin. At this point, the REM pod activated as if to acknowledge that we were talking about it. “Can you go closer to it, make it light up for us,” Colin asked. Rachel was sensing that something or someone was not too fond of Colin. “Someone doesn’t like you,” Rachel said. “If you want Colin to leave can you make it go off again?” she asked. The REM pod activated. “Colin, get outta here,” joked Rachel. “You’ve been dismissed!” added Jessica. “You don’t like me?” Colin asked with sadness in his voice. “Do you like that I’m in here? If you like that I am here, can you make the green light go off?” asked Rachel. But the device remained quiet. At this point, Sean had returned to the room after taking a quick trip downstairs to see if he could find a display with vases in it. He came up empty handed.

A male voice is heard – ‘Man’. “Do you want us to walk around?” asked Rachel. A male voice is heard – ‘Sure’. Rachel and Sean began to walk amoungst the aisle, while still asking questions. At one point, the Ovilus spoke – ‘Express’. “Do you need to express something?” asked Rachel. At this point, Rachel and Sean were scouring the shelfs, looking for vases and or bottles. When the got close to the REM pod, they noticed a shelfing unit that was filled with what looked like vases. It was a small victory, but soon turned back to what was going on in the room. “Something just touched my hair,” stated Rachel. “Is this what you wanted us to find?” Rachel asked. A male voice is heard – ‘Yup’. The Ovilus also spoke – ‘Deep’. ‘What in this room did you own?” asked Rachel. A male voice is heard – ‘Vase’. “You own the vase? Is that what you wanted us to see?” she asked. A male voice is heard – ‘You see.’ “Yes, we seen. What else do you want us to look at?” questioned Rachel. No responses were heard. “You’re obviously intelligent, so can you say my name?” asked Rachel. The Ovilus spoke – ‘Ears’. “Do you want us to listen?” Rachel asked. A male voice was heard – ‘No’. With that response, Rachel ended the ghost box session.
Sean was now conducting his own EVP session by the case of vases. “If you want, you can show yourself to me,” he said. “You can use my energy to make one of these devices go off,” he continued. Meanwhile, Rachel was monitoring the DVR cameras. “Colin, get your butt out of the camera,” she said. The REM pod activated. Rachel stood there for a few seconds. “You don’t like it when I mention Colin, do you?” she asked. The REM pod activated again. “Colin!” exclaimed Rachel. The REM Pod activated. “You want me to bring Colin back in here?” she asked. The REM Pod activated again. “Colin, Colin, Colin!” Rachel said, but this time the REM pod remained quiet. “Can you make the REM Pod go off again?” asked Sean. This time the Ovilus spoke – ‘Run’. “What do you mean by ‘run’?” Sean questioned. Everything was still until Sean spoke. “Oh man!” he stated. “What?” asked Rachel “Just felt a hand with fingers and pressure on my lower back,” he stated. Rachel was also feeling something. “I’m getting really cold,” she said. “Do you want Sean to run?” Rachel asked. At this point Sean was beginning to feel nauseous and we decided to take a break and get out of the situation. Before we could leave the room, Colin and Jessica returned and began to talk about what they had experienced in the other room. There seemed to be extreme anxiety and Colin was adamant that the flash light on his head was knocked off by some unseen force. Before we left the area, we asked the Ovilus where we should visit next. The three words it gave us was ‘Build’, ‘Burn’ and ‘In’. We were unsure of what this meant, but afterward during final research, Rachel found something that seemed to verify those words. The actual museum building was built on the property in 1906 and it is said that “The foundation of the building is constructed from coursed rubble, reported to have been obtained from the ruins of the Indian Council House and Hospital (built in 1816/17 and destroyed by fire in 1881) on the Common”. – www.niagarahistorical.museum/about

Rachel agreed. “Did you hear a female voice?” he asked again. Rachel once again agreed, but explained how she thought it was Melissa and Jay coming to join. “Is there anyone in here right now?” Colin asked. The REM pod was then placed on the floor in front of Colin. “The device with the lights on it, if you get close to it you can make the lights go off,” he stated. “Can you set that off?” he asked next. The REM pod activated. “Can you make all the lights, light up?” he questioned. The REM pod activated again, but only one colour. “Can you try?” he asked. The REM pod activated, but again, only one colour. “Now you know how to use it, we can talk to you. I would really like it if you would talk to me,” Colin said next. “You can use my energy to make it go off if you want,” Sean added. Colin and Sean asked some more questions, but all was quiet. Colin then thought he heard a chair move across the upper floor. “Who just moved the chair?” he asked. The Ovilus spoke – ‘Reason’. “What reason?” asked Colin, “Do you want us to reason with you?” added Sean. Rachel’s camera all of a sudden shut off. It should also be noted at this point that all the footage that was recorded before this point is mysteriously missing. “That was the strangest thing,” said Rachel. The Ovilus then spoke – ‘Travel’. “We did travel. We came a long way down here. We want to get to know you,” said Colin. Now was the time to do a P-SB7 ghost box session. Before any questions were asked, the Ovilus spoke – ‘Highway’. “Is there a male or female in this room with us?” asked Rachel. A female voice is head – ‘Yeah’. “Is there a male in the room with us right now?” she asked. A male voice is heard – ‘No’. “Does something in this room belong to you? If something in this room belongs to you, can you tell us what colour it is?” Rachel asked next. A male voice is heard – ‘Green’. The Ovilus spoke – ‘Pose’. The team looked around the room for a green item. Rachel noticed that one of the military style jackets on display looked green. “Were you a solider?” she asked. A male voice is heard – ‘I am.’ More questions were asked in regards to this, but no discernible responses were heard.
The focus was then switched to the upper floor. “Do you want us to go upstairs? Is there something upstairs that is yours?” Rachel asked. The Ovilus replied – ‘Bike’. It was true, there was a bike on the second floor. “Is that bike up there yours?” she asked. A male voice is heard – ‘Yup’. “Did you ride it to work or school?” she asked next. A male voice is heard – ‘War’. “To the person who owned the bike, what is your name?” A male voice is heard – ‘William’. “Can you tell us your last name?” asked Rachel. But all was quiet until the Ovilus spoke – ‘Hug’. “Who do you want to hug? Can you go give Colin a hug?” asked Rachel. A female voice is heard – ‘Hi’. “Are you afraid to give Colin a hug?” she asked. This time a male voice is heard – ‘What’. “Why are you so quiet? Can you say something to me?” asked Colin. The Ovilus spoke – ‘Dirt’. “Are we dirty?” asked Rachel. A female voice is heard – ‘Clean’. Thinking of where there could be dirt, Rachel asked if whomever what Sean to go to the basement. A female voice was heard – ‘What’ and a male voice was heard – ‘Follow’. “Follow who?” asked Colin. But no responses. The Ovilus spoke next – ‘Send’. “Do you want us to send Colin away?” Rachel asked, jokingly. A male voice was heard – ‘Yes’. This voice did not sound like it was joking. “Some one does not like Colin here,” stated Rachel. “What’s wrong with Colin? What do you want to do to him?” she asked. A male voice is heard – ‘Hit’. “You want to hit Colin?” exclaimed Rachel. Colin seemed to not be enjoying this conversation and began to move about the room. “Colin is going to leave, is that what you want?” she asked. A female voice is heard – ‘Yup’. “I don’t want to leave yet!” exclaimed Colin. “Are you afraid of us?” Rachel asked next. A female voice is heard – ‘Sure’. “To the lady who keeps talking, can you tell us your name?” asked Rachel. It was all quiet until a male voice was heard – ‘Hi’. “Can someone tell us their name?” Rachel asked. A male voice is heard – ‘Ben’. It was also noted that four other different sounding male voices were heard saying ‘Hi’. “Is there a Janet here?” Colin asked. A female voice was heard – ‘Yes’. “Janet, my name is Colin. Are you here and can you say ‘Hi’?” he asked. But all remained calm and quiet. “Boo,” exclaimed Colin. A male voice is heard – ‘Boo’. Everyone giggled. “Funny dead person,” Rachel noted. A male voice was heard – ‘We’. “Okay, THEY don’t like you,” Rachel clarified. “Okay, I’m leaving,” stated Colin. A male voice is heard – ‘Great’. “Bye,” stated Colin. A male voice is heard – ‘Bye’. “Why are you picking on people?” Sean asked. “Who do you want to leave next?” added Rachel. A male voice is heard over two stations – ‘Se – an’. The Ovilus also spoke – ‘Jerk’. “Who’s the jerk? What’s the jerk’s name?” asked Rachel. A male voice was heard – ‘Sean’. “I’m not leaving. Why are you picking on my friend?” asked Sean. A male voice is heard – ‘Colin’. “What are the names of the people you want to stay here?” Rachel asked. A male voice is heard – ‘Women’. It appeared that this male was quite content that the women of the group remain and the men of the group leave. Sean was not giving in. “Sean is still in here, but Colin got upset and left,” stated Rachel. A loud burp sound was heard through the ghost box. “Too much beer, eh?” joked Rachel. A male voice responded – ‘Yup’ “Well it’s either a really comical dead person or a drunk,” Rachel said.
Jay and Melissa had now joined the rest of us in the Museum. They asked who we were communicating with. “A really comical dead person who hates Colin,” responded Rachel. Jay and Melissa began to describe the experience they had had. Jay had seen a gentleman with a green military style coat. Melissa had felt someone play with her hair. Both had seen shadows and strange lights (with their eyes) in the basement. Hearing this, Colin returned. “Hey look, Colin is back dead person!” stated Rachel. A male voice is heard – ‘Hey’. As the team began to discuss current experiences, there seemed to be a variety of different male voice coming through the ghost box. They all seemed to be trying to get our attention. With no audible answers to our questions, we ended the P-SB7 ghost box session and headed to the basement.
The focus was then switched to the upper floor. “Do you want us to go upstairs? Is there something upstairs that is yours?” Rachel asked. The Ovilus replied – ‘Bike’. It was true, there was a bike on the second floor. “Is that bike up there yours?” she asked. A male voice is heard – ‘Yup’. “Did you ride it to work or school?” she asked next. A male voice is heard – ‘War’. “To the person who owned the bike, what is your name?” A male voice is heard – ‘William’. “Can you tell us your last name?” asked Rachel. But all was quiet until the Ovilus spoke – ‘Hug’. “Who do you want to hug? Can you go give Colin a hug?” asked Rachel. A female voice is heard – ‘Hi’. “Are you afraid to give Colin a hug?” she asked. This time a male voice is heard – ‘What’. “Why are you so quiet? Can you say something to me?” asked Colin. The Ovilus spoke – ‘Dirt’. “Are we dirty?” asked Rachel. A female voice is heard – ‘Clean’. Thinking of where there could be dirt, Rachel asked if whomever what Sean to go to the basement. A female voice was heard – ‘What’ and a male voice was heard – ‘Follow’. “Follow who?” asked Colin. But no responses. The Ovilus spoke next – ‘Send’. “Do you want us to send Colin away?” Rachel asked, jokingly. A male voice was heard – ‘Yes’. This voice did not sound like it was joking. “Some one does not like Colin here,” stated Rachel. “What’s wrong with Colin? What do you want to do to him?” she asked. A male voice is heard – ‘Hit’. “You want to hit Colin?” exclaimed Rachel. Colin seemed to not be enjoying this conversation and began to move about the room. “Colin is going to leave, is that what you want?” she asked. A female voice is heard – ‘Yup’. “I don’t want to leave yet!” exclaimed Colin. “Are you afraid of us?” Rachel asked next. A female voice is heard – ‘Sure’. “To the lady who keeps talking, can you tell us your name?” asked Rachel. It was all quiet until a male voice was heard – ‘Hi’. “Can someone tell us their name?” Rachel asked. A male voice is heard – ‘Ben’. It was also noted that four other different sounding male voices were heard saying ‘Hi’. “Is there a Janet here?” Colin asked. A female voice was heard – ‘Yes’. “Janet, my name is Colin. Are you here and can you say ‘Hi’?” he asked. But all remained calm and quiet. “Boo,” exclaimed Colin. A male voice is heard – ‘Boo’. Everyone giggled. “Funny dead person,” Rachel noted. Don’t be afraid of us. We aren’t afraid of you,” he said. “We were down here earlier and you gave us quite a bit,” added Melissa. “Are you afraid of all of us down here?” questioned Colin. “Maybe it’s afraid of you,” Rachel said to Colin. Jay agreed. “That’s possible. When you came down it backed off. When you left, you could feel it come back,” he said. “I think you’re afraid of us all. I think you’re scared,” stated Colin. “Just go near the device on the groun and try to touch it. Can you please light it up?” he asked next. “Let me guess, you don’t like me do ya?” he asked. The Ovilus spoke – ‘Self’. “You only like yourself? You don’t like anyone else?” questioned Colin. “You want someone by themselves down here?” asked Sean. Everything remained quiet. Rachel panned around the room, and when she stopped on Jay, she noticed a strange light anomaly go across his mid-section. She stopped recording to go back and view the piece of footage. She also noted that there was no dust floating about and the area was void of any air flow or circulation (See our YouTube video and let us know!). The basement then seemed to go deafening quiet. Melissa and Rachel decided to head to the attic area and try some communication there.
The attic was located over the original museum section and was also void of any kind of air flow. It was hot and stuffy, but that wasn’t going to stop Melissa and Rachel from conducting a session. The two ventured into the attic and were immediately attacked by a large bumblebee who appeared to not enjoy his new visitors, or the lights being on for that matter. The ladies quickly exited the attic area, and took a seat by the stairs leading back down to the second floor. As they sat there, the Ovilus spoke – ‘Veronica’ “Veronica? Who’s Veronica?” asked Rachel. The P-SB7 was turned on and the session began. “Hey, are you up here with us?” asked Rachel. A male voice was heard – ‘Hey’, ‘Up’. “Who’s up here with us? Can you say your name?” Rachel asked. A male voice is heard – ‘Yup’. “I’m getting the name ‘Tom’,” said Melissa. “Is your name Tom?” questioned Rachel. A male voice is heard – ‘Yup’. “What are you doing up here?” Rachel asked next. No answers were heard, but Melissa and Rachel were pretty sure that they heard a male voice say ‘Jay’ twice. “Did you want Jay up here?” asked Rachel. No answers. “Did you want us girls up here?” she asked next. A male voice is heard. A word is said that was slightly indiscernable, but it didn’t sound nice. “That sounds like a bad word,” said Rachel. Melissa agreed. A male voice followed – ‘C**t’. “That sounds like a bad word too,” added Rachel. “Did you want Colin to come up here?” asked Rachel. A male voice is heard – ‘Nope’. The Ovilus then spoke – ‘Fly’. “Is this were you come to hide from everyone?” Rachel asked next. Again, a male voice was heard – ‘Yup’. Melissa began to note how she felt like someone was touching her side. “Are you touching people?” asked Rachel. A male voice is heard – ‘Yeah’. “Who did you just touch?” she asked. But nothing was heard.
The two of them sat and listened to the ghost box. It sound like two males and a female where having a conversation with each other. It was very hard to distinguish what was being said, but it was very easy to pick out three different voices. “Are you trapped here?” Rachel asked. A male voice is heard – ‘Yes’. “Do you need help?” she asked next. A male voice is heard – ‘No’. “Is there any little kids up here with us?” asked Rachel. The word ‘No’ is heard and it sounded like a kid had said it. “Do you like Jay? Do you like any of us?” Rachel questioned. A male voice is heard – ‘You’. “You like me?” Rachel said. “Do you want Jay up here?” she asked next. Two male voices here heard – ‘No’, ‘Sure’. “To the gentleman talking to us, can you tell us your name? Can someone tell us their name?” asked Rachel. Though it isn’t heard at the time, upon audio review a male voice is heard – ‘Rueban’. The Ovilus then spoke – ‘Holy’. “Holy what? Holy crap? Holy bible? What’s Holy?” Rachel asked. “Are you a religious man?” was her next question. A male voice is heard – ‘Yes’. “Are you missing something really important to you?” she asked. A male voice is heard again – ‘Yup’. “Do you need it to be found? Do you want it on display?” asked Rachel. But the ghost box was quiet. Rachel decided to switch the topic. “Are you the one that doesn’t like Colin?” she asked. The Ovilus spoke – ‘D’. “The letter ‘D’? What does that mean? What does ‘D’ mean? ‘D’ what?” she questioned. A male voice is heard twice, each time saying the same thing – ‘Don’t’. “Don’t what?” asked Rachel. A male voice is heard – ‘Help’.
Once again, a conversation between 2 male voices and a female voice is heard coming through the ghost box, but nothing that could be made out. The Ovilus then spoke again – ‘Time’. “Yeah, it’s almost time,” Rachel said, in regards to having to pack up. “Are you going to help take the cameras down?” asked Rachel. “You can even move the cameras,” added Melissa. “Can you do a dance in front of the camera?” Rachel asked jokingly. A male voice is heard – ‘Yup’. “Where you a soldier?” asked Rachel, switching up the questions. A male voice was heard – ‘No’. “Where you the man coming through to Jay in the basement?” Melissa asked. A male voice is heard – ‘Who’. The Ovilus then spoke – ‘Nick’. “Is your name Nick?” asked Melissa. A male voice is heard – ‘Hey’. “Hey, how’s it going,” she said. “Nick, are you up here with us?” asked Rachel. A male voice is heard – ‘Yup’. “Can you tell us your last name?” Rachel questioned. No response. “How old are you?” Melissa asked next. “Did you died as an old man?” she added. Again, no response. “Were you a casualty of the war?” followed Rachel. “How many soldiers are with you right now?” she continued. A male voice is heard – ‘Ten’. “Do you classify as Canadian or American?” she asked next. The Ovilus spoke – ‘Ours’. “Ours?” questioned Melissa. “You’re one of ours? Canadian?” she asked. Both girls then hear someone coming. “Is it Jay?” asked Melissa. A male voice is heard – ‘No’. “It sounds like Colin,” she added. “Rachel?” Colin asks as he stands at the bottom of the attic stairs. “You were right,” Rachel says to Melissa. Colin joins the girls and they continue on with their session. “Can you say the name of the person who just came up the stairs?” asked Rachel. The Ovilus spoke – ‘Holiday’. “Do you like Colin taking pictures?” she asked next. The Ovilus said a word – ‘Placebo’. Colin knocks three times and all are quiet in the hopes of hearing a knock in return. But nothing was heard.
Shortly after, Melissa notices that the K2 Meter was lighting up. “Can you make it light up more colours?” asked Rachel. “If you come closer it will light up more colours,” Melissa said. The K2 meter then lit up again. “That’s right,” Melissa stated. The Ovilus the spoke – ‘Size’. The three of them continue to ask whomever is with them to light up the K2 meter but all seems quiet again. “We have to leave soon,” said Rachel. “Can you make a big noise to indicate that you know we are here and leaving?” she asked. The Ovilus spoke – ‘Spring’ “Is there a message you need to tell us before we go?” asked Rachel. All remained quiet. “Okay, we gotta go,” said Colin. “If you’re not gonna bang for us, we have to leave. Can you say Bye?” he asked. Again, quiet. “This is your last chance to say anything,” stated Rachel. A male voice is heard – ‘Go’. “Good bye,” said Rachel. The Ovilus spoke – ‘See’. “What are we suppose to see?” asked Melissa. “Apparently we need to see, then hear,” replied Rachel. With that last response, the three gathered their equipment and headed back downstairs to begin tear down and packing away equipment.

Is the Niagara Historical Museum haunted? Yes and No. While we believe that the building itself (and the land) does not hold anything, the hundreds of artifacts (on display and in storage) do. We believe that the building is host to numerous spirits, but no ghosts. Spirits checking up on their old possession and perhaps, having a bit of a fit over the ones that aren’t on display. Either way, the Niagara Historical Museum is a place one must take the chance to visit and immerse themselves in the history of Niagara. Who knows, maybe you will come across the comical, dead man who doesn’t like Colin.
