Burkholder Cemetery - Hamilton
located on Mohawk Rd in Hamilton. It was established on a portion of land owned by descendants of the original settlers. It is believed that as early as the year 1800 the people of the neighbourhood brought their dead here to be buried.
During the early years of the old church, the people strongly believed in superstitions, signs, and omens. It was believed that if the cemetery claimed one victim, it would not be satisfied until it had at least three. Before the death of a very prominent person occurred, a strange light was said to run along the roof of the church.
Many visitors to this day say they used to see that same light running along the top of the church roof. There is no proof or explanation as to what the light is. The only logical theory is that it was the light orb of a faithful church member’s spirit who passed on. Another belief was that angels hovered over a person’s deathbed, but were only visible to the eye of those who held faith.

The Beck House - Penetanguishene, Ont
Built in the mid 1800's, The Beck House was once home to Charles "Karl" Maximilliam Beck, a lumber magnate of the late 1800s. Karl and his family - his wife and 9 children, would call this magnificent home for many years.
Upon the death of his wife at an early age, his oldest daughter, Mary, would take on the role as primary care taker for the younger children.
When Karl died it is said that he made sure that his children inherited his fortune equally - except for Mary. Mary was given only $1.00 of her Father's fortune as it is said that there relationship had a contentious background.
It has been reported that Mary may still be at her family home, causing some disturbances as she is unhappy with her inheritance. But could it be something else? Perhaps Mr. Beck himself?
While the first two floors are residential apartments, the third floor can be rented out through Air BnB. Visit www.airbnb.ca and search for "The Haunted House Apt 302" in Penetanguishene.
Make sure you read the diary entries from those who have previously spent the night. Maybe you will be able to add your own experience to the journal!

St Marys Town Hall - St Marys, Ont.
Constructed in 1891, this three-storey limestone and sandstone building was built on the former site of a two-storey framed town hall and hotel that burned down in 1889. With its completion, the first town council meeting took place in May 1892.
Not only did the Mayor and town council meet and discuss topics in this building, but it also was the towns court house, police station and a place were criminals where held until their sentencing. Today many of the offices remain the same, however the courts and holding cells have been moved. The old courtroom has been turned into a theatre, complete with balcony - a eerie resemblance to the theatre at the Whitby Centennial Building.
Reports of out of place noises, men talking, items moving about on their own, as well as the apparition of man have been report.
Please be advised that this is a Government owned building and permission is required to be in the premises after municipal operating hours.

Wildwood Sanitarium - Salamanca, New York. U.S.A.
Said to be built in 1900 (although historical records indicate that it was built much later), the house was purchased in 1903 by Dr. Henderson and Dr. Perry. Their goal was to open a Osteopathic hospital that focused on healing non-contagious ailments (addiction, mental health, etc.) with the use of Osteopathy. The private hospital opened in 1906, with a bath house in the basement. When the Tuberculosis outbreak occurred, the government forced the hospital to change course, and it was open as a private sanitarium for those suffering from the respiratory disease. Eventually the house would be turned into apartments, falling into disrepair until the current owners purchased the building and began to restore it.
Apparitions of men, women and children, poltergeist activity, voices, footsteps, and unexplained changes in temperature have been reported. The location was also featured "Paranormal Lockdown", amoung other media publications.
