The snow-covered trees were a beautiful sight to see as the team exited off the highway and began to make their way into the City of Welland. First stop of the day would be at a local restaurant, M.T. Bellies, where the food was delicious and the waitress was originally from Bowmanville (how coincidental?!). After an early dinner, the team made their way to the location they would be spending the evening at, connecting with the past. With its front door view of the Welland Canal, and only a few blocks away from the Burgar/Glasgow/Fortner House (http://www.theparanormalseekers.ca/burgarglasgowfortner-house---welland-ont.html), we knew that this location would have quite the historic background. It would only be a few minutes before we would enter the building and begin our investigation.
Earlier that morning, Lisa had asked Rachel to send her a picture of the location they were investigating. Keeping out all identifying factors, Rachel sent Lisa a photo of the outside of the building. The following information is what Lisa sent back to Rachel:

It has a school feel.
1910.
There is an important room on the right-hand side near the back but near the front door
I see a picture of the queen; I think it’s in the basement or being stored and she is standing behind a chair with a robe over her shoulders that’s white (well the trim is) I think it had red too. And it looks like she is holding something in her hand that looks like a sword but it’s a sword.
They showed me fog or smoke, it was thick.
Getting a pain in my head, stroke/aneurysm.
Mary Elizabeth SCH_______ .
They’re showing me the hospital like building that had aluminum on wheels (sometimes)
separators, that had fabric in between.
Something about numbers in 3’s.
I see letters on the wall, like cursive writing letters.
Something about the 1960’s.
Doris (sounds like).
Delaney (I think it’s a last name).
Margret.
Randolph (1923?) he likes to move papers and items. He feels like a caretaker - chest like heart (right side).
Now my throat feels raw, it hurts to breathe.
I see water in what looks like it’s to the right of the building but not close.
There is something is what looks like (it was or still is) a brown banker box that is valuable and has a spirit attached, nothing negative.
As soon I go back to the picture, I get the head pain again.

Opening its doors in 1923, the Carnegie building housed the Welland Public Library. However, before the library was built, the property had already had its fair share of owners and buildings. Back in the mid 1800s, the property (and adjacent property which is now the home of the Welland Tennis Club), housed a brick manufacturing plant that was established by Thaddeus W. Hooker. Eventually a house was built on the corner of Muir St (now known as King St) and Young. This house was the residence of Dr. J.A. Cowper (although other history records indicate a Dr. H.D. Cowper, J.A. Cowper’s nephew as living there, however Rachel could not find any official documents indicating H.D had ever lived there). Seeing how the city around them was growing and the need for larger scale medical services, Dr. Cowper offered up his residence and turned it into the city’s first hospital. From 1906 to 1908, the hospital would see its fair share of patients, which resulted in the city needing a large facility. Once the new hospital opened in 1908, the house was then home to the City Relief Department and the Mother’s Allowance Board. During the second World War it became a station for the local Ration Board, the Red Cross Society (Welland-Crowland), a baby clinic (Welland Board of Health), the Welland Board of Trade, and the Victorian Order of Nurses. In the 1950’s the house still remained on the property and was still the hub of the Welland-Crowland Red Cross Society and the Victorian Order of Nurses. It also now included the Welland & District Health Unit, the City Welfare Department and the City Sanitary Inspector’s office. In 1962, the house was demolished in order to accommodate the new addition of the library and a parking lot. In May 2005, the Library relocated, leaving the Carnegie Building vacant, but designated as a historical location
In 1977, the Welland Historical Society purchased the old Moore family homestead, which had been turned into an orphanage. The Welland Historical Museum operated out of the old house for numerous years, eventually outgrowing the location. The Museum then moved to an old school on Queen Street in 1984. The Welland Museum, was once again on the move, and in 2006 relocated to the former public library, where it has remained, growing into its new space while exhibiting artifacts and history of Welland and its surroundings.
Upon entering the building, the team was greeted by our hosts for the evening – Stephanie and Lisa. After a quick chat and setting up a base, we began our walk through. Our first stop was the Basement. “My throat,” Lisa said as the team descended the staircase. “Ooh, it’s chilly,” Lisa said as she entered the main room. “And now its warm,” she added as she made her way to the back room. Once in the back room, Lisa was drawn to the shelving that housed artifacts. “I feel like the box is around here,” she said, referring to the banker’s box she had seen earlier. “I am having a hard time breathing,” she added, while breathing heavily as she scanned the shelves. “It’s a box like that,” she said pointing to a clearly labelled Bankers Box. “This is digital equipment,” said Stephanie. “Nope,” Lisa clearly stated, indicating that was not the box she had seen. “Matchbooks, I love it,” said Alison, as she admired some old matchbooks from local businesses. “You’ll never find them anymore,” added Stephanie. “Oh, that remind me,” blurted out Lisa. “Do you have a picture of the Queen on her Coronation?” she asked. “We have a book, I believe,” replied Stephanie. “This is framed, I think,” said Lisa. “It was on the landing, by the stairs, but it has been put away,” added Stephanie. “Was she holding her staff?” asked Lisa. “It was her crown and sash,” replied Stephanie. “Was she standing behind a chair?” Lisa asked next. “I believe so,” answered Stephanie. “And it’s put away now?” continued Lisa. “Yes,” Stephanie answered. Lisa was quiet for a moment. “Somebody doesn’t like that it is put away,” she said, as she continued looking through the shelving for the box she had seen. “There is another one of those boxes,” Lisa pointed out. “Ugh, my heart,” she added. “It’s got papers in it,” she continued. Lisa opened the box and took a look. “Um, no. Is there another box?” she asked. “I know this sounds funny, but would you have somebody’s will? In one of these boxes?” she added. “Possibly, yes,” replied Stephanie. “Okay, because I thank that is what somebody is attached to. To the point where they keep coming back. I think ‘Jackson’ might be the name, or sounds like,” said Lisa. “There is one artifact no one wants to go near. It’s in our wood storage,” added Stephanie. Taking a break from searching for the box, Lisa walked back out into the room. “There is something around here that makes me feel like I am choking,” she said. “I get a headache down here,” added Jay. “I feel like someone has their hands around my neck, choking me,” Lisa continued. “Um, who gets pushed down here? Or who was pushed down here? Someone has felt pushed down here,” she added. “Yes,” replied Stephanie. “They where pushed. Now it was nothing negative, but they did get pushed,” said Lisa. “Past curator,” added Stephanie. “They questioned it. Like they totally tried to rationalize it,” said Lisa. “Ok, um, is their paperwork from the city?” questioned Lisa. “Like that would have been kept at city hall?” she added. “Yes. Council paperwork is in here,” Stephanie answered, pointing to a small room off to the side. “Did you have this when the person got pushed?” asked Lisa. “Yes,” replied Stephanie. “Was this information in here?” Lisa asked. “It was upstairs,” answers Stephanie. “We did have two people pushed,” she added. “One was down here, the other upstairs,” she said. “So, was it a female when the information was in here?” questioned Lisa. “No,” Stephanie answered. “Okay, because they are talking about a female. There is something about a female being pushed,” Lisa stated. “Was there other info down here about city hall when this lady was pushed? She a connection,” said Lisa. “There might has possibly been. She wasn’t here very long,” replied Stephanie. “There is something, I don’t know what it is yet, that they’re trying to show me. But I got a pain in my head,” said Lisa. “I just feel like the male that pushed, so the “pusher” has something to do with city hall,” she added. “So, this was an exhibit that had some city hall archives,” Stephanie pointed out. “The man, did he have an ‘O’ name, or a strong ‘O’,” asked Lisa. “No, his name was George,” answered Stephanie. “Okay, nope,” said Lisa. “Why is everyone so afraid to come down here?” she asked next. “Do you want the story now?” replied Stephanie. “Maybe just a little,” answered Lisa. “There is a presence in this room that was crushed by a carriage,” Stephanie stated. “Okay, this is going to sound graphic but do you know if the wheel went over the neck?” asked Lisa. “No, no record of any of that,” answered Stephanie. “Does this person’s name start with an ‘O’, or a strong ‘O’? They keep going back to that,” Lisa said. “It didn’t start with an ‘O’, but their last name was Morningstar. I don’t know that person’s first name,” stated Stephanie. “Did he have a grand-daughter that passed?” Lisa asked next. “Who?” questioned Stephanie. “Morningstar,” answered Lisa. “I’m not sure,” replied Stephanie. “Hmm, okay. Ugh, I can’t breathe. I am having a very hard time breathing right now, and it’s heart related,” stated Lisa. “I feel like someone connected to this area has been seen on the cameras,” she added. “Is it connected to the artifacts or the land?” asked Rachel. “It could be that when this was something else, the room across from us, someone hung themselves,” said Stephanie. “That could be why I feel like I have hands around my throat,” Lisa added. “So, what that when this building was a hospital?” she questioned. “This building was never a hospital,” Rachel said. “But there was one once on the property,” she added. “Was it a male?” Lisa asked next. “Mmhmm,” replied Stephanie. The team then made their way to the back hallway where the furnace room and workshop are located. “He was in this room or a different building?” Lisa asked, pointing to the furnace room. “It was a different building,” replied Stephanie. Lisa then looked over to the workshop. “What’s this room? Are things moved in here?” she asked. Stephanie shook her head yes. “Yeah, things are definitely moved in here,” Lisa said as she entered the Workshop. “This is that caretaker,” she added. “He’s the caretaker. Do you know who the caretaker would have been in 1923?” asked Lisa. “Oh, no. I’d have to go look it up,” replied Stephanie. Lisa looked around the room. “Yes, things are moved in this room with him. This is not how it was set up when he was here. No,” she said. “My left leg. There is something with the left leg. It’s connected to him. It actually looks bowed,” she added. “Like it goes out?” questioned Rachel. “Yeah. It’s funny. He’s like ‘Unacceptable. It’s unacceptable,” replied Lisa. “The room?” questioned Stephanie. “Possibly,” replied Lisa. Stephanie agreed. The room was unacceptable due to being messy. “Do you know who Bill is?” Lisa asked next. Stephanie was unsure. “Ya, we need to find out how he passed. He is making me feel dizzy,” said Lisa. “He says caretaker and 1923” she added. “He isn’t very tall either. Very small stature. Heavy smoker. He is probably the number one spirit here,” she described. “How old do you think he was when he worked here in 1923?” Rachel asked. “Forties. I heard 47,” replied Lisa. “Someone gets annoyed with him, though. With the things that get moved in here. He thinks its funny,” she added. “I’ve yelled at him a few times,” Stephanie said with a laugh. “It’s almost like ‘I’m gonna eff with her today’,” Lisa said with a laugh. “But this is his main hang out. He goes to other parts of the building but not to the new parts. I feel like he had dementia or something. But he passed due to a heart attack. I don’t think he was married. He was definitely a heavy smoker. He might be the one to talk to use tonight,” she added. With that, the team headed back out into the hallway and entered the main room.

He was definitely a heavy smoker. He might be the one to talk to use tonight,” she added. With that, the team headed back out into the hallway and entered the main room.
Next, the team headed down the back hallway to the wood storage room, but Lisa was quickly sidetracked and we ended up in the Community room first. “You know what this reminds me of? When we did Pathfinders,” stated Lisa. Rachel agreed and said it reminded her of when she was in Brownies. “Stuff gets moved in here?” asked Lisa. Stephanie agreed. “Okay, it’s a female,” Lisa stated. “She, ugh. She’s harmless, but she does move things. But she is a little sad,” she added. “How old is she?” asked Rachel. “69, she said,” replied Lisa. “Really sad though. Like I’m fighting back tears,” she added. “Is she from this building? Or a previous building? Or?” questioned Rachel. “I think previous. Like wow. I don’t know if she lost a child, or two,” answered Lisa. “Okay, that’s really interesting,” said Stephanie. “Like holy crap…” Lisa trailed off. “Now, would it have been that she lived at the house, or worked at the house? Or?” Rachel questioned. “I see her with an apron on,” described Lisa. “I got to get my own emotions back right now. I’m close to bawling,” she added. After a brief moment, Lisa continued. “Her heart is so sad,” she said. “Was there a fire? On these grounds?” she asked next. “Not that I can recall. We don’t have an astronomical amount of info on the grounds before it was the building,” replied Stephanie. “I think she may have lost her children in a fire. Like she is looking for these two children right now,” stated Lisa. Rachel started thumbing through her notes to see if anything Lisa had just said matched with her research. “Do you know what the structure looked like beforehand?” asked Lisa. Rachel replied that she did. “Was it like, almost looks like a log cabin?” quizzed Lisa. “Nope, not here,” Rachel answered. “I might know of something else,” she added. “One story…” Lisa trailed off. “Do you know what her name may be?” asked Rachel. “I think it’s an ‘M’,” Lisa answered. “I think we might be going back a couple hundred years,” added Lisa. “So that house, was not here. But stuff from that house is here,” said Rachel, referring to the Moore homestead that the museum once called home. “Okay, she might be confused on that part of it,” added Lisa. “And there was a fire? I’m like 98% sure there was a fire,” she added. “Oh possibly, I wouldn’t know,” answered Rachel. “I don’t know if it demolished the whole thing. And my jaw hurts right now. I feel like it’s a boy and a girl. I feel like she is just looking for her kids. She just wants to find her kids. But she is super, super, super sad,” continued Lisa. “Do you know where they are? Where the kids are?” asked Stephanie. “Do you?” Lisa questioned back. Stephanie indicated that she did. “You do?” Lisa asked quizzically. Again, Stephanie indicated that she did. “Do you know if they died in a fire?” asked Lisa. “No, but you have touched on what we have been told multiple times. Someone has suggested where they are,” Stephanie said. “Here? Like on the grounds?” questioned Lisa. “Like in this building or outside?” she added. Stephanie indicated that it was outside (previous mediums have indicated that there were two children buried near a rock around the front entrance). Lisa felt that something in the wood storage area was connected to this, so the team headed to the area. “Holy cannoli!” exclaimed Lisa as she entered the room. “You have a lot of stuff. Its full!” she added. “Is this the room that something is in that people don’t want to go near?” she asked next. Stephanie agreed. “I’ll see if I can find it,” said Lisa as she made her way to the middle of the room and stopped. “Something is messing with my head. This part is new. The room?” she questioned. “Yes, I believe sixties, seventies,” replied Stephanie. Lisa looked around. “Is the object over here?” she asked. Stephanie indicated that Lisa was standing near it. Lisa was now fixated on a piano that was nearby. “Has this piano been hard going off?” she asked. “No, it doesn’t work,” responded Stephanie. “Oh, I can hear it,” said Lisa. Stephanie then pointed out that there was another one behind it. Lisa then looked straight to her right. “Hey look! A wheelchair!” she exclaimed. “I’m trying to figure out…” Lisa trailed off. “I don’t feel anything bad,” she added. Stephanie was quite amused. “It’s the wheelchair,” she said. “We have a couple of people who just don’t want to be near it,” she added. Lisa examined the wheelchair. “I feel like there was somebody with a stroke with this chair. My left side feels kind of numb and saggy. Good quality wood though,” she said. “Yeah, they don’t make them like they use to,” added Rachel. Lisa agreed. “I know people don’t feel like they’re alone in this room,” said Lisa. The team then made their way out of the wood storage room. Lisa was interested in taking a look at the Metis Room, so the team made their way back down the hallway. Previous experiences in the room indicated that whomever was there did not like the way things had been set up. However, the museum staff had rearranged and changed things and it appears that the messages that Lisa was receiving showed that they were happy with how things were now displayed. “Okay, I am ready to head upstairs now,” said Lisa. With that, the team headed back up to the main level.
The team now entered the area that once housed the old library. “Was there a classroom? I feel like there was a classroom?” Lisa questioned. “I need to know why I see a classroom,” she added. “Could be what was in this building beforehand or its original use,” explained Stephanie. “Like a school?” asked Lisa. “I see like a blackboard with the ‘A’ and little ‘a’, ‘B’ and little ‘b’, like in cursive,” she explained. “We did have a classroom exhibit, but it was over there. We have a lot of school artifacts that we have acquired from a local school,” said Stephanie. “Do you know what building this was before?” she asked Lisa. “Was it made to be a library?” Lisa responded. Stephanie shook her head yes. “This was the children’s section,” Stephanie said, indicating that the area we were currently standing in would have housed children’s literature and other information. “Would it have had a blackboard?” asked Lisa. “Maybe? We only have photos from the seventies onward,” replied Stephanie. The team then ventured around the room, looking at and commenting on the incredible items and hearing the stories about where they came from. We then ventured our way into the Wedding exhibit. While this room had very personal items, Lisa did not pick up on anything. After admiring the wedding dresses, the team then headed up to the third floor. This area is strictly for staff and is home to a large variety of artifacts. While noting that nothing was particularly active, Lisa did indicate that items were moved about by unseen hands. Still looking for a particular Bankers Box, there was plenty in this area to go through, however we would have been there all night. We even took the opportunity to look for the portrait of the Queen that Lisa had described earlier. After a good search, we decided it was time to head back down to the main level and get ready to investigate with the lights out.
Tonight, we would be utilizing four new pieces of equipment: the 360-degree Paranormal Puck, EMF Trip Wire, the Flux 2, and the Tempest. We couldn’t wait to try them out and see if they would provide us with any action. We gathered all the equipment and headed back downstairs to the side room to begin our investigation. Check out our live video to see what happened!

Having finished in the one room, the team now made their way to the community room where Lisa had picked up on the woman and children earlier. Placing the 360 puck in the middle of the room, the team set the paranormal music box to the side on the ledge, the REM pod on a table to their right, Teddy pod in the kitchen, and the EMP trip wire in a semi circle around the puck. The flux 2 was placed on the conference table. The team then say around the conference table and began. A male voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Leave’. “We aren’t leaving,” Lisa responded. Rachel then notices that the puck is indicating a source of movement to their right. “Do you want me to tell you who it is?” Lisa asked. A female voice is heard through the ghost box – ‘No. “Somebody ‘Brown’. Brown is the last name,” said Lisa. The paranormal music box then activated. “If you’re here with us, can you light this up to green?” Lisa asked, indicating that she wanted to see the Flux light up. “I just got a real big chill right through me,” she said. “They’re playing with the little baby hairs on my neck,” she added with a shiver. “If your last name is Brown, can you light up the green light on this triangle in front of me? All you have to do is go near it,” she said. A female voice is heard through the ghost box – ‘Burn’. “Who is in the room with us right now? Could you tell us your name please?” asked Rachel. A voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Bitch’. “That’s rude!” exclaimed Sheena. The music box then activated again. “Thank you for walking in front of it,” said Lisa. It was then that the K2 meter on the table activated. “Who is in this room with us right now? Can you tell us your name please?” Rachel asked again. A male voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Leave’. The K2 continued to activate and then the music box. “Everything is going off,” Jay noted. “Thank you,” Lisa responded. “Is there a woman in here with us?” asked Rachel. No response. “Why do I feel like I am going to puke?” Lisa questioned out loud. It was then that Alison heard a thump across from us. Rachel had heard it as well. “None of these lights are going to hurt you,” informed Rachel. “I see somebody standing in the kitchen. Close to Teddy pod, on the left,” Lisa said. The puck then picked up on motion in the same area as before. “Is there a woman or a child in here?” asked Rachel. A female voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Evil’. “It’s not evil, it’s not,” Lisa reassured. It was then that there was a loud burp that came across the ghost box. It broke the tension and everyone laughed. It was a very recognizable bodily function. “This lady that is over there, she is just standing there, looking at us,” said Lisa. “It’s okay, we aren’t going to hurt you,” Rachel said out loud. “You can make the lights flicker,” added Sheena. “Is your last name Solomon? Could you make one of our pieces of equipment light up?” asked Rachel. No response. “Are you a Cowper?” she asked next. A male voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘No’, ‘Girl’. ‘Blink’. “Can you make it blink again?” asked Rachel. “The lady standing there is like a young adult. She says she is 18,” said Lisa. “What year is it?” Sheena asked. A female voice is heard through the ghost box – ‘Leave’. Rachel then notices that the puck has picked up movement again in the same spot. “It keeps picking up movement this way,” she said. Rachel then turned the Tempest on. ‘NYC’ it said. “Is that where you’re from? New York? Is that where you were born?” questioned Rachel. ‘Inquire’ it said. A female voice was then heard through the ghost box – ‘Leave’. “Can the lady tell us her name?” asked Rachel. Lisa then indicated that she could see something walking through the hallway in front of us. Unknown to the team, and EVP was captured at this point of a woman saying ‘I, I hurt’. The tempest then spoke – ‘Subdivision’.
“Are their any children here with us?” asked Rachel. A very clear male voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘One’, ‘Two’. “There are two children here in here with us. You counted one, two. Are they male or female, or both?” asked Rachel. A voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Counted’, ‘Carol’. A second younger voice was also heard through the ghost box – ‘______ _______ steps’ (we couldn’t make out the first two words of the sentence). “Can you tell us their names?” asked Rachel. No response. “What’s the little boy’s name?” she asked next. Lisa then noticed that the K2 meter had activated all the way to red. “What’s the little boy’s name?” Rachel asked again. A male voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Little Boy’. “Yes, little boy,” repeated Rachel. “Can the little girl tell us her name?” she asked. No response. “If anyone is here right now, can you make a noise or bang for us?” she asked next. The K2 meter continued to activate and the Tempest spoke – ‘Hot in here’. “It is not hot in here,” commented Lisa. The Tempest spoke again – ‘I cannot see’, ‘Come back’. It was then noted that there were a few voices heard through the ghost box consistently telling us to leave. “What do you want to tell us?” asked Rachel. The Tempest spoke again – ‘Let me out.’ “Let you out of what? Where do you want to go?” questioned Rachel. The Tempest spoke again – ‘He’, and then again – ‘He’. “He, He what?” Rachel asked. The Tempest spoke again – ‘Killed them’. “HE KILLED THEM!” exclaimed Rachel loudly. “It said ‘Hot in here. I cannot see. Come back. Let me out. He. He. Killed them’,” Rachel said, reading directly off the Tempest screen. “That’s creepy,” replied Jay. “You said fire,” Rachel said to Lisa, referencing what she picked up on during their walk through earlier.
“My legs and feet are freezing,” commented Lisa. A voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Goodnight’. “Oh, somebody’s out,” commented Alison. “Did you die in a fire?” asked Rachel. A male voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Breathe’. “Who is ‘He’?” Rachel asked next. No response. Lisa was now fixated on the door that led out to the main hallway. “I need to read up on elementals. What is really tall but not negative. Definitely not negative,” she questioned. “Maybe a troll? They can be tall or small,” replied Sheena. A male voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Take that out’. The Tempest also spoke – ‘Don’t trust’. “Don’t trust what?” asked Rachel. The puck once again activated, indicating movement. “It’s in the same area,” Sheena noted. “Wicked ass headache on the left-hand side,” Lisa blurted out. The Tempest spoke – ‘It was him’. “I don’t think so. Don’t trust. It was him,” Rachel read off the Tempest screen. The Tempest spoke – ‘Killed us. A male voice was also heard through the ghost box – ‘Leave’. “I don’t think so. Don’t trust. It was him. Killed us,” repeated Rachel. “Wow,” Lisa said shockingly. “Who is this?” asked Rachel. The K2 meter activated and a female voice as heard through the ghost box – ‘Please go’. The Tempest also spoke – ‘Not my idea’. “Are elementals negative?” questioned Lisa. “No, they are nature spirits,” Rachel answered. “Is that why he is covered in leaves?” asked Lisa. “Like a forest fairy?” Sheena asked. “Like a tree?” added Rachel. “We need to know who he is,” Paula stated. “Yes, who is he? A brother? Son? Uncle? Father? Husband?” questioned Rachel. A female voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Leave’. It was at this point that both Jay and Sheena heard what they thought was a woman sighing/talking out in the hallway. “I keep seeing him walk by,” Lisa said, referring to the elemental being she had been seeing. “Who killed you? Can you tell us who they were to you?” asked Rachel. The Tempest spoke – ‘Don’t trust’. “I keep seeing something in the windows up there,” Jay indicated, pointing to the same area that Lisa was seeing the elemental. “Who shouldn’t we trust?” asked Rachel. The Tempest spoke – ‘Open door’. “Do you mean the spectral door? To cross you over?” questioned Lisa. A young, male voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Noooooo’. Rachel noted that she heard that as a very drawn out ‘No’. “Do you want Lisa to open the door?” she asked. The Tempest spoke – ‘I cannot see’. “You cannot see because of the smoke?” asked Lisa. A voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Yeah’. “I heard that,” said Alison. “It is getting colder in here by the minute,” Lisa commented. Rachel and Sheena both agreed that they could feel the temperature change and then it was noted that the K2 meter was activating up to red consistently (all ways to debunk this was tried but nothing seemed to activate it like it had been). The Tempest then spoke – ‘Hurt them’. “This is getting a little creepy,” Rachel commented. “Is this connected to the hospital?” she asked. The Tempest spoke – ‘We’. “If you say ‘we’, is there more than one of you?” asked Rachel. It was at this moment that all the lights on the Trip Wire activated at the same time and flashed green. Everyone was in awe. “Oh wow! Thank you!” exclaimed Alison. “The whole thing lit up! I’m head to toe goosebumps right now,” Lisa said excitedly. “Me too!” added Rachel with just as much excitement. “Thank you! Can you do that again?” asked Lisa. But all remained quiet. “This is tall. Walks back and forth. Would have to duck to come into the room. I don’t understand why he is here,” Lisa said. “Can you make those lights do that again?” asked Rachel. At this point both Rachel and Sheena heard what they thought was the REM pod activating, but everything was quiet. “Are there people who walk around this place all night long? I keep seeing something black go across the window,” Jay said. Stephanie assured him that there is not any heavy foot traffic at night past the building. The Tempest spoke – ‘I am happy’. “I am,” Lisa replied. A male voice is heard through the ghost box – ‘Dead’. “You said ‘Let me out. I am happy.’ That does not sound like a happy person,” Rachel quizzed. “Did somebody just walk by those windows?” Jay asked, pointing to the windows in the main hall way. “Ya, it blacked out,” he added. “He keeps walking back and forth. Not negative at all. But why is he even here?” Lisa questioned. “I’ve never seen anything like it before,” she added. “Are we hearing stuff from the hospital?” asked Rachel. No response.
“Is there a forest near here?” Lisa asked Stephanie. “Merritt has one a couple blocks over,” she replied. Jay then pointed out that he just seen a dark shadow walk across the hall near the elevator. Lisa agreed. At this point both Lisa and Rachel swore they heard the REM pod activate, but it remained quiet. “Just saw it again. And again. You can see the light on the wall when there is a car, but this is on the floor,” described Lisa. “Are you from the hospital?” asked Rachel. The K2 meter activates all the way to red and continues to do so. “I feel like I’m being stabbed in the lungs right now,” said Lisa. “Like you’re suffocating?” Rachel questioned. “Was there a fire? Not here, but with those children?” Rachel asked. A male voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Lost’. “Did your uncle start the fire?” asked Lisa. But no response was heard. “That thing is definitely a nature creature,” stated Lisa. “Did your children die in the fire?” asked Rachel. A voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Lisa’. The Tempest also spoke – ‘It was him’. “Was it him who started the fire?” asked Rachel. “Did your uncle intentionally kill you?” added Lisa. A voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘The window’. “Did he do it on purpose?” asked Rachel. The Tempest spoke – ‘I am sad’. “Why are you sad?” Rachel questioned. A voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Leave’. “We aren’t leaving yet,” Lisa responded. A male voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Dude’. “I see movement, but nothing on the cameras,” Jay said, indicating he kept seeing a shadow moving across the front hallway. “Is that you that is moving?” asked Rachel. No response. “This is the most we have ever been told to leave,” Lisa commented. The Tempest spoke – ‘We are not’. “We are not what?” Rachel questioned. The Tempest spoke – ‘Her’. “We are not her. Who are you then?” she asked. The Tempest spoke – There are more here’. A voice was also heard through the ghost box – ‘Get out’. “How many more are here?” asked Rachel. A voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Six’. The Tempest also spoke – ‘Open door’. Alison and Lisa both heard something in the hallway, but it wasn’t caught on audio. The Tempest spoke again – ‘Open window’. “Is there anything else you would like us to do?” asked Rachel. The Tempest spoke – ‘Don’t believe so.’ “Anything else you would like to tell us?” she asked next. A male voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘You’re weird’. In an attempt to try and capture evidence of the shadow, Jay began to take photos. “That creature does not like that at all. The flash,” Lisa said. “Can you say my name?” asked Rachel. A male voice was heard through the ghost box – ‘Bob’. “Can you say my real name? Do you know my name?” Rachel tried to clarify? It was at this point that all audio had stopped recording, so we did not capture any answers. The puck also randomly stopped scanning and everything went quiet. Lisa mentioned that the tree creature she was seeing was harmless but would appreciate some type of foliage in the front. It was at this point that the team felt best to call it a night. We had been told plenty of times to leave, and felt that if we didn’t, we would have overstayed our welcome. We gathered the equipment and headed back up to the main level. After bundling up, the team bid farewell to Stephanie, Lisa and the Museum, and headed home.
Is the Welland Historical Museum haunted? We believe it is. The spirits and ghosts that still visit and reside at the location are either looking for something or wanting to make sure everything is running smoothly. Sometimes, they just want a little attention. Other times, they want to have a little laugh at your expense. We will be doing continuous research to see if we can connect the children and the potential fire.
